Thanks!

February 13th, 2009

I was going to email this to the Strands team, but why not posting it?

Hi All,

These emails are never easy to send, but I must say that a stage in my life is coming to an end. I am leaving Strands. Trust me, I am sad.

But I am thankful for all Strands has given me. During these +4 years, I have learned so much, both professionally and at the personal level. I have met and worked with wonderful people, so many friendships I take with me. I joined Strands in the early days, I think it’s awesome what we’ve all achieved, but I really think it’s time for others to continue doing these awesome things and it’s great to see what an amazing team we have to do them.

I am sad to go, but excited to see what comes next. I will continue betting on the things I believe on, and I hope my next project is as rewarding as this one, in terms of challenge, opportunity, and team.

It’s time for me to move on, but be sure that I continue to be interested on and committed to Strands success, and I will continue being involved with Strands.

I’ve made this little video with pictures of Stranders (some are not here, sorry I did not find all pictures I wanted).

“Make new friends but keep the old”, the song goes. Lets stay connected. I’ll be reachable at gabriel.aldamiz@ gmail.com, my phone will be +34 666 552 418, and my life will be streamed via http://aldamiz.com and on course on Strands. If we are not already, lets connect on Linkedin and Facebook. I’ll return to Bilbao at the end of the month. Please ping me often :) .

Gabi: this post reflects so many of the wonderful qualities you have brought to Strands: it is honest, open, energetic, upbeat, dynamic and captivating. It is one of the finest “farewell” messages I have ever seen, in any company I have worked for. Thank you for all you have brought to Strands and its communities of users and [other] customers. I wish you all the best as you turn the page to the next chapter!
