In the year 2000, my wife María was the Director of Robotic Simulation at Kuka Robotics, the largest robots manufacturer in Europe. Her work allowed us to see how digital manufacturing was increasing flexibility and control of robotic cells.
We built a small company that offered services to engineering companies mostly in Germany, grew to a small team of 10 engineers, and designed robotic cells for Volkswagen, PSA and Opel. We invested part of our time to develop components in-house. These components taught us how tech can increase development speed.
